Did You Know - JERRIE MOCK

 First Woman To Fly Solo Around The World - 1964

Geraldine 'Jerrie' Mock was from Ohio.  She not only became the first woman to fly solo around the world (for which she was presented the FAA's Exceptional Service Decoration by President Lyndon B. Johnson), but she's also one of the first female aeronautical engineering students at Ohio State University.  In addition to these 'firsts' (and many others), this remarkable woman boasts the following, as well:

Jerrie Mock is one of the pioneers of aviation, along with Amelia Earhart and Bessie Coleman.
